you pay $100 a month for one year. that is a total of $1,200. In return they will pay up to $36,000 for your education after you get out of the military or while you are in(if necesary). they will explain it in basic and you will sign up for it there. i go to a tech school and get a monthly payment for it and most of it goes in my pocket and i buy beer with it because my school is so cheap.lol

You pay $100 a month out of your paycheck for your first year in the Army. When you get out of the Army and are enrolled in school (you must be enrolled) the GI bill pays you based on if you are a part time or full time student. In order to receive your check you must call in once a month to verify you are still enrolled in school. As a full time student (currently, the rates may change by the time you collect) you get $1300 a month, it is definately worth it. Oh, and you can collect it for a total of 3 years. Any specific questions? Feel free to email me, Im currently collecting my GI bill

Sounds like a homework question. All of these are answered in IRS Pub 596. Snag a copy from the IRS website.

go to the nearest law firm they might have his info! or u could use the most powerful phone compony Verizon use the verizon pages.
3 :
I would start by calling the Pennsylvania State Bar Association at (717) 238-6715. They probably have his current office address and phone number.
4 :
Go to your local telephone company and ask for the directory on Pa. They generally will have a book on the yellow and white pages. Probably you will find him in the yellow pages under, of course, Attorneys.

If my step dad lives in California, and he is a Navy Veteran and I am a junior in High School, will I be eligible to go to College in California for free under the GI Bill?

no. The GI Bill is for your step dad only to further his education. He has 10 years to use it after he is discharged from the service. If he does not use it, he loses the $1,200 he paid into it.
2 :
If you are his dependant and he passes it to you, you can go to any state schools and some private schools with the tuition and housing paid for.
3 :
no. only the post 9/11 GI bill is transferable to dependents. in order to switch from the Montgomery version to the Post 9/11 version he must have been AD on 1 August 2009 when the new bill went effect and meet all other criteria for eligibility. he must serve at least ten years AD before he can transfer up to 18 months total of the Bill to any dependents.
